I'm 6'4"/200lbs and ordered a size Medium Tall. They fit perfectly! They do not sag at the crotch, and the waste band/ankle openings are the absolute right size for me. And the recovery compression these tights offer is unlike anything I've experienced before. The first time I wore them was after a seven mile run, and I kept them on for about 12 hours (slept in them). Besides being so comfortable I really did not want to take them off in the morning, I had virtually no muscle pain the next day. That is a first! There is no question I will be buying more of these in the very near future.
One other thing I want to point out... I have an insanely long daily commute to work. I'll often be in my care for 90 minutes each direction. If any of you have a similar commute, you know full well the muscle pain and stiffness you have at the end of the day. I started wearing these tights during my commute each way, and can honestly say that when I arrive at my destination I have absolutely none of the discomfort in my legs that I used to have. I feel completely refreshed. This was definitely unexpected, and could possibly be a life saver for me. DVT has been a growing concern of mine because of how much time I am cooped up in my car every day, but these tights have already removed every symptom I was having. As soon as I can afford it, I'm going to buy at least 5 - 6 of these 2XU Recovery Tights to help me recover from my running, as well as helping me avoid the risk of DVT because of my hyper-commuting.
These tights are worth every penny!
These do help you recover. For recovery, I actually put on the Elite and then pull over the 2XU leggings so I get some pretty heavy compression. I found on the first day, this was too much and I got a headache, but then got used to it so that's what I'm doing right now for recovery.
I tried running in the Elite for a few miles... ok - can't draw any conclusions. But I was really interested in running in the Recovery tights... so I put it to the test today... I ran 26.2 miles in the Reovery pants so now I'm definitely going to use it 2 weeks from now in the race. My previous long run was 21.5 miles and my legs were dead after that, so whether or not the tights helped me run the 26.2 today... well, IDK, but I'm gonna use them for the real race! I never stretch before running, and usually it takes me about a mile before my legs start loosening up... usually my lower legs take a while to loosen up. With the tights on, it took a full 3+ miles before my lower leg, especially my calfs stopped feeling tight. But after that it was good... later on in the run, I felt like the pants gave me support in my upper leg. Well, my legs are stiff right now after the run, and I have the other compression stockings on... one interesting thing... when you have these things on during recovery, you can actually *feel* the sore spots, for me knees and calfs... even after a day or two, you can still feel them... however, when you take them off... the leg feels GR8!!! Ok, that's my experience with these stockings.
As their official size chart on their site suggests, at 5'10" and 185 pounds a regular, non-tall "Medium" size was a perfect fit! I'll slim down to ~170 once I get back into form this cycling season.
Awesome compression. I, too, like many others here have tried many other brands of supposed graduated compression pants. Nothing works as well as these.
I came off a long, hard bike ride to start off my 'season' back on Monday night. I am usually sore and my legs feel like dead weight for a good 16-24 hours after a hard ride like that. I immediately slipped these on after my shower and drying off completely and within just a couple hours I took them off to see how I felt and my legs felt as fresh as could be!
I did try to sleep in them as many suggested but I haven't yet adjusted to being comfortable wearing pants like these to bed. I usually wear no pants at bed so after a couple hours of waking up and broken sleep I decided to take them off. I woke up still feeling great and it's thanks to the few hours of wear post-ride. Awesome compression and fit!
Since we have to travel 5 hours by air to get to the nearest mountain, we only go once a year now. Each time, after the first day, my legs are very sore after boarding. I wore these overnight after the first day and wore them under my baselayer on the 3rd day of riding and they made a huge difference in terms of muscle soreness.
Definitely give these a try.
