Julian Cowan Hill first developed tinnitus when he was 16. By 30 his symptoms were so severe he couldn't hear the phone ring or hold down a job. He found help through craniosacral therapy. Six months later his tinnitus had gone. He decided to dedicate his professional life to helping others let go of tinnitus. I bought this book for my mother who developed Tinnitis earlier this year after realising how upsetting and totally depressing this condition was for her. She is now about six months down the line and cannot speak highly enough of this book and how it has helped her. It would not be an exaggeration to state that when she first starting experiencing Tinnitis, she was feeling totally helpless and really could not see a way of handling this condition. Sleepless nights, lots of additional noise like running fans and radios to try and drown out the noise and some very dark moments for her and the family. In addition she was offered no initial support from any medical practioners or anyone who could talk her through the stages of dealing with this unwelcome addition to her life. She credits this book with virtually saving her from falling into the most dark of places and it was an absolute godsend so a big thank you to the author for taking the time to put this book together. It has certainly helped Mum and therefore Dad and the rest of the family who were very concerned for her. I would encourage anyone to purchase this book if they or someone they know is experiencing Tinnitis especially in those early days.

This book has been such a help. I've had tinnitus for a few years now. When I first developed it, I had the usual panic & was sent on a CBT course & acquired several books to council myself as well. These all helped & gradually I managed to cope & even never noticed it for most of the time. However, on the odd occasion when worries have popped up, as they always do, I have had set backs with the old 'can't cope' & panic mode again. This happened a few weeks ago, which prompted me to buy this book. It is totally different to all the others I have bought & so uplifting!! It seems to be a totally new approach which is what we need with this condition. I would recommend it highly, it has been a wonderful help to me. Sally

This is a book about the truth of tinnitus. I believe many people don't want to hear it (pardon that awful pun) . I , recently having acquired the symptom of tinnitus, immediately knew whilst watching the authors you tube videos, he was right about why this symptom stays alive in people's conscience. I have overcome debilitating anxiety and chronic pain in the same ways that the author describes. He doesn't specifically mention the word neuroplasticity, but that's what happens to make you better. People are so stuck with old medicalised ways of thinking, just as we once thought the world was flat! Please buy this book if you have the symptom of tinnitus and reread it. Try to really understand what he is saying.

When it arrived it is more like a thick booklet but it's what's in it that counts and it has set me off in the right direction and I have read it twice. It gives great advise and helpful information and for me it helps me understand the Tinnitus. Dont expect a quick fix as this just doesn't happen but the chart in the book is a great help and gives you something to aim at. I am just at the beginning of a long road but this book has helped me start in the right direction.

This book was a life saver for me. I’ve had tinnitus for four years and after being told there was nothing to be done by health professionals, it was just age - I’m 62 - I started to plan my exit as I could not tolerate it anymore. Yes, I was in the worst state imaginable. I have a highly traumatic background and this was the straw that broke the camels back. I also saw an audiologist who gave me some pink noise masking hearing aids and they helped a little. I also attended a mindfulness course via the health service and this was a bit more helpful. I then started researching tinnitus for myself (I was desperate at this stage) and came across this book via the authors YouTube channel. At last, what I was reading was making sense, a lot of sense. There is something that can be done for tinnitus and the answer is in you. Read this book, more than once if you have to, I did. I would even say give a copy to every healthcare professional who deals with tinnitus in the health service. I guarantee they would stop saying ‘nothing can be done’ and give the already vulnerable people they are dealing with some hope. Thank you Julian Cowan-Hill.
