Pros:
- 720p video, good quality day and night (if WiFi is fast enough, see cons for more details).
- Flexible tail to enable you to easily mount in multiple places.
- Can be accessed anywhere you have internet connection and on multiple devices, meaning you can keep an eye on your baby even when you're out and about (it can be used as a security camera as well as baby monitor). Can be disabled if worried about privacy of your camera.
- Notifications sent to your device when it detects crying or loud noises. Customisable sensitivity/decibel threshold, so you can tailor for balance between short delay and number of alerts. When on highest sensitivity and when on strong WiFi connection should only be a few second delay between crying and alert.
- No need for separate monitor device.
- Saves 30 second videos to watch at your leisure.
- Audio only mode to conserve device battery.
- No subscription fee for online services.
- Wide field of view, mitigates that it has no motorised pan and tilt ability.
Cons:
- No temperature monitor without buying separate device.
- Price, reasonably pricey compared to competition.
- Cannot connect to 5GHZ network, 2GHZ only, hampers ability to get highest internet speeds, which is bad ,given it's need for high bandwidth.
- Needs high internet bandwidth to perform optimally to facilitate good quality stream and fast notifications. Therefore only suitable for homes with stable and fast WiFi connection. If WiFi is slow, video quality deteriorates and notifications are slow.
- Latency between action/noise and seeing/hearing it on device. Only a few seconds when on strong WiFi and is inherent with all internet based cameras. Even radio wave connection has a slight delay too, so will never eliminate completely.
- Slight "click" when changing between night vision and normal modes and vice versa. Also when in night vision mode, has a slight glow of red LEDs around lens, not very noticeable though.
