Más información del producto
Deluxe 5-Bike Hitch Mount
An easy to use, rugged rack to safely transport your bikes
Carry up to five bicycles on road trips or camping excursions with the Allen five-bike carrier hitch. The hitch insert--which fits 2-inch receiver hitches--is easy to operate and super secure for your bikes. Just attach it to your hitch, then use the tie-down cradle system to individually secure and protect the bikes. The carry arm accommodates a wide range of frame sizes and designs, so you can carry your kid-size mountain bike or adult road bike with equal confidence. And you don't have to remove your bikes to access the back of your truck or SUV, as the rack tilts back for easy lift-gate access and folds out of the way completely when not in use. Also equipped with a no-wobble bolt to keep the rack from moving inside the hitch, the five-bike carrier is colored with a black powder-coated finish.

About Allen Sports
Richard Allen (pictured left in 1972) started Allen Sports in his garage in 1967. Since its founding, the company has been committed to producing the highest-quality, easiest-to-use bike racks and bicycle-related products on the market. Allen, a onetime aerospace engineer, opened Allen Sports after building a prototype bike carrier in his Lincoln, Massachusetts shop in his free time. The first-ever trunk-mounted bicycle carrier made of electrical conduit, metal strapping, and fire hose casings (for padding) was refined on weekend excursions to Cape Cod. Shortly afterward, Allen took his design to market, and by 1971 had established a national presence for his product.
Today, the family-owned company owns more than three dozen patents, operates four warehouses nationally, six factories abroad, and sells products in countries around the world including USA, Mexico, Canada, and China.

ATENCIÓN: NO COMPRAR EL CANDADO: "Master Lock 2866DAT 1/2 in. and 5/8 in.

These Allen Sports customer service issues aligns with what other reviewers have said about Allen Sports and their poor customer support. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BIKE RACK.
Two aluminum adult bikes should not break a hitch bike rack.
ALLEN SPORTS: I invite you to help me resolve this issue and turn this bad experience around. I would be glad to update this review.
Thanks to Allen, it never gave me the hassle of returning it. It is a great product at an amazing price. It comfortably holds 5 bikes, fits perfectly on my 2019 Subaru Ascent 2" receiver. Its got a few glitches like it is not very convenient to lower a fully loaded rack to open the trunk. Other than that it is an extremely nice product and would recommend this to anyone looking to buy good rack at an awesome price.
UPDATE: After 2 months of usage, it is observed that when there are no bikes and the stand folded down, the main rack doesn't sit still. Its wobbly and makes this weird noise. A simple solution is to tie it with a band but yet its not a good thing. I wish it was sat sturdier.
It has a locking mechanism built into where it mounts in the hitch receiver which 1) locks the carrier to the hitch and 2) expands within the hitch making for a tight secure fit.
Thinking about the fact that this carrier saved me from buying a locking hitch pin for ~$20, the $100 I paid made it a steal compared to any other carrier at the time.
The only critiques would just be that the straps used to secure the bikes aren't the easiest/quickest on the market, and the tilting motion (of the vertical post to access the hatch) does not go down far enough for my 1st generation CRV's hatch/tailgate to open as it swings sideways. The top glass portion does clear however. Any hatch that swings up like a conventional van or SUV should be fine though. On the plus side, it prevents bikes from tilting too far down and either hitting something or being too heavy to lift back up.
Overall, good build quality, hefty, the cotter/hitch pins used to fold the carrier are linked together and connected to the carrier with wire (impossible to lose any of the pins).
I just completed a 4 hour trip, one-way with 4 bikes on it. My full suspension mountain bike, my wife’s light street bike, my 1t-year olds hard tail mountain bike and my 11 year olds smaller mountain bike. The trip was 99% on pavement and I member hitting any major bumps.
Upon arrival, the bikes had a fair bit of rub damage which is to be expected, but maybe to not this extent. The problem is to get 4 bikes or rack you really have to be a little bit of a magician and they are crammed tight, so any movement is going to give you rub damage. When I got the bikes off, one of the arms was bent down. I straightened it for the return home, and after we got home the bends were worse (see pictures).
The reviews seem pretty good for using this bike for 2 or even 3 bikes, but that’s not what I bought it for, so only one star. I don’t see any way you’re going to use this for 4 bikes unless they are for 4 kids bikes and you don’t care about damage. I’d buy this to hauls 2 bikes as with the extra space I could avoid the rub damage, but it’s not taking any more than that.
The spring pin was stuck, i was unable to push it in. It costed me 50 bucks to ask help in an automotive shop to do the job.
After it's been removed, i figured out that i received a defective item. The pin hole is not fully drilled with the chip on which caused the pin stuck. See attached pic.
Please check the hole before you install it.
I had to disassemble the locking mechanism and reassemble it with lubricant so that it could work properly.
I suppose that with 2 light road bikes this rack would be sufficient for short local trips.
It is too sloppy at the lower hinge causing it to sway to much at the top.
I would certainly not use it for long road trips (more than an hour) or with 4 heavy trail bikes on any trips.
Otherwise, it works as advertised.
2. Why they didn't drill a second hole for the suggested lock is a mystery. Go to a mechanic and spend $20 to get them to drill one.
3. Get strong bungies to hold the bikes against the rack.
Now the rack is functional.
Bike clamps are too near. I doubt if four full size bikes can fit. I had tried three. Little clumsy to tilt the rack to open flip gate. Also the hitch bolt is not stainless steel. It got corroded and looks ugly. Getting this on and off the car requires 10-15 minute each time and a set of wrench and box spanners.
However it holds bikes steadily. Driving at or slightly above 100 km/hr you will feel the shake a little bit but nothing alarming. Have used multiple times.
